Our stay at this hotel was truly memorable. The location was perfect, close to Lake Myvatn, and our spacious family suite was both comfortable and accommodating. The breakfast was delightful, with plenty of options, but the restaurant portions were a bit large for our taste. One downside was the stuffiness in the room due to warm weather, and a lack of window screens made it tough to let in fresh air. Overall, I would recommend this place, but perhaps for a shorter stay.

I had a lovely stay at the Vogafjos Guesthouse, where the atmosphere felt cozy and charming with its wooden cabins. The location was perfect for exploring the Myvatn area, and the dining experience was exceptional, especially the breakfast. However, I did notice some noise issues from adjacent cabins, which detracted from the overall peace. Despite this, the warm ambiance and farm-fresh food made it a memorable trip.
Rooms

The cabins were beautifully designed with all-wood interiors, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. They were spacious and included a nice bathroom, but unfortunately, the walls weren't very soundproof.

While the cabins are rustic, they have a natural charm. It was a bit inconvenient that there was no mini-fridge or TV, but overall, the ambiance made up for it.

7.2/10
The guesthouse offers a good spot for those exploring the Lake Myvatn area, with an excellent restaurant and a charming farmhouse. However, the cabins where the rooms are located could use a little more space and the thin walls make it easy to hear neighbors. It's not exactly a resort, and I was surprised by the lack of regular housekeeping during my stay.
Rooms
7.0
The cabin was adequate for a night, but a bit cramped. The beds were comfortable, and I appreciated having Wi-Fi.
Service
5.0
The reception wasn't as accommodating as expected. I was disappointed that housekeeping didn't check in automatically, and requests for towels felt ignored at times.
Location
9.0
The guesthouse is well-situated in the Myvatn area, close to local attractions, making it a convenient base for exploration.
Dining
9.0
The restaurant serves excellent dinners, and the breakfast spread was quite unique, featuring local cheeses and skyr.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities are basic since it's more of a lodge than a resort, and the lack of a fridge in the room was a downside.

This cabin guesthouse offers a charming and rustic experience right in the heart of the Myvatn region. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but soundproofing could be improved. The dining experience is delightful, especially with fresh and local ingredients, but it's wise to make reservations as the restaurant can get quite busy. The price reflects the quality, but there could be a bit more clarity on housekeeping services.
Rooms
7.0
The rooms are decent-sized and have floor heating, although they lack fridges and TVs. Soundproofing is an issue, as noise from adjacent rooms can be distracting.
Service
7.0
While the restaurant staff was nice and responsive to queries, I was surprised to find that room cleaning isn't offered unless requested, which wasn't made clear during check-in.
Location

Situated conveniently in the Myvatn area, it's just a short drive from key attractions and allows for easy access to a small town.

Dining here is a highlight, with a fantastic selection of farm-fresh foods and a breakfast worth waking up for. Make sure to try the geysir bread!
Facilities

Facilities are adequate for a cozy lodge experience, though not necessarily resort-style. Everything was clean, but a little more amenity variety would elevate the experience.

I had a wonderful experience at this cozy retreat, with clean and comfortable rooms that made my stay extremely enjoyable. The owner was very friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, perfect after my long days exploring. However, the walls were a bit thin, which meant I could hear some noise from my neighbors during the night. Overall, the price for such quality and comfort was fantastic.
